Envisioned as a family vacation home and part-time Airbnb, this remodel transformed an old, block house into a stunning family home, blending clean, modern design with the patina and materiality of Southern Arizona. The design emphasised exposed wood ceilings, sandblasting them to reveal a rustic charm and warmth throughout the home. Polished concrete floors, carefully curated modern elements, minimalist finishes, and neutral tones and fixtures helped the home balance the warmth of the desert and contemporary living.

The design worked toward a balance- preserving the soul of the original block house while embracing a fresh, timeless aesthetic that embodies modern desert living.
